The Ministry of Health, aiming to reduce the burden on existing hospitals and prevent outbreaks of diseases such as Monkeypox, has made a significant decision. According to this decision, it will be mandatory for housing complexes with more than 150 independent units to have a mini hospital or health room.
According to a report by journalist Metin Can, fully equipped health rooms, operating 24/7, will be established in these housing complexes. Nurses will staff these rooms, providing quick responses to sudden medical situations.
The implementation of this project will bring various benefits, such as preventing the spread of epidemic diseases, providing convenience for elderly residents, and reducing traffic congestion.
Last week, representatives from the Turkish Urban Facility Management Association met with Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu. During the meeting, they reached an agreement on the project, which envisages the establishment of health rooms in housing complexes. Minister Memişoğlu approved the project and issued the necessary instructions for its nationwide implementation. As part of the project, one of the common areas of the housing complexes will be allocated to the Ministry of Health, which will then initiate the necessary work in these areas.
Preparation for Monkeypox Outbreak
This initiative will enable the management of non-emergency situations, such as blood pressure measurements, regular injections, minor injuries, and the minimization of infectious disease impacts within the health rooms of the housing complexes, without the need for hospital intervention. Additionally, the project aims to reduce city traffic and the congestion in hospitals. The project will also ensure preparedness for potential or expected outbreaks, such as Monkeypox.
