Getting around Antalya: tram, bus and Antalyakart

· Author: Grand Emlak

Daily life in Antalya runs on the tram, the municipal bus and a single card, Antalyakart; this guide relies on official sources only.

The rail system: three stages, two lines

According to the official page of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, the light rail system was built in three stages: stage 1, the Fatih–Meydan route, 11.1 km of line and 16 stations; stage 2, the Meydan–Airport–Expo route, 19.1 km and 15 stations; stage 3, the Varsak–Sakarya–Otogar–University–Meltem–Antalya Museum route, 24.85 km and 39 stations. The municipality states that work has started on a stage 4 Konyaaltı–Varsak line to extend rail across the whole city. Source: Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, accessed 08.10.2026

The timetable page of the operator, Antalya Ulaşım A.Ş., lists the routes as "Fatih–Havalimanı–Aksu–Expo" and "Varsak–Müze"; departure times are queried by choosing a departure stop, an arrival stop and a date. In the company's announcements the first line is coded T1 (Fatih–Airport–Expo) and the second T3 (Varsak–Museum); the T3 line has been running on its winter timetable since 14 September 2026. Besides Antray, the same company operates the Nostalgia tram, the Antobüs bus service, the intercity bus terminals and the marina; bus routes and departure times are published at online.antalyakart.com.tr. The municipality explains that low-demand bus routes running parallel to the stage 2 rail line were cancelled and replaced by feeder routes B35, B45, B46 and B46A, and that environmentally friendly electric buses have been introduced. The airport connection

According to DHMİ, Antalya Airport (AYT), in service since 1960, operates domestic and international terminals with a total terminal area of 178,637 m². The municipality defines the stage 2 rail route as Meydan–Airport–Expo, and on the operator's timetable page Havalimanı (Airport) is an intermediate stop of the Fatih–Expo line. A fault notice dated 25 July 2026 reported that ring bus services were put in place between the Burhanettin Onat, Havalimanı and Expo stops in the line's stage 2 section, so bus cover is provided during interruptions.
