Private hospitals and accreditation in Antalya
· Author: Grand Emlak
Healthcare is among the first questions when settling in Antalya; this guide summarises hospital numbers and accreditation using official sources only.
Antalya's hospital infrastructure
According to the official website of Antalya City Hospital, the province has 17 state hospitals, 29 private hospitals and 2 university hospitals, alongside dialysis centres, assisted reproduction centres and organ transplant centres. The city hospital itself takes appointments through MHRS and runs a dedicated call centre for international patients. Source: Antalya City Hospital, accessed 08.10.2026
According to the Ministry of Health's General Directorate of Health Investments, the 1,500-bed Antalya City Hospital opened on 18 March 2024; the Ministry states that the facility was designed to serve not only Antalya but surrounding provinces and to contribute to health tourism. The Antalya Provincial Health Directorate publishes district state hospitals, family health centres and ongoing projects such as the 300-bed Aksu State Hospital on its website. Akdeniz University Hospital is the province's university hospital, with units such as the Prof. Dr. Tuncer Karpuzoğlu Organ Transplant Centre and a Breast Health Centre; it states that it uses the Da Vinci robotic surgery system and gained international recognition through the world's first uterine transplant, performed twelve years ago. What accreditation means
Türkiye has two separate systems. The Quality Standards in Health (SKS) are mandatory standards published by the Quality Department of the General Directorate of Health Services; institutions enter periodic self-assessment data and are monitored through the Türkiye Health Quality Indicators System (TÜR-GÖS). Accreditation, by contrast, is voluntary and is granted by the Turkish Health Care Quality and Accreditation Institute (TÜSKA) within TÜSEB, using its Health Accreditation Standards (SAS) sets. On TÜSKA's list of accredited organisations (as of the access date), the private hospitals carrying the Antalya name are Özel Antalya Yaşam Hastanesi (Gold, 16.07.2026–15.07.2029), Özel Alanya Yaşam Hastanesi (Gold, 16.07.2026–15.07.2029), Özel OFM Antalya Hastanesi (Bronze, 08.06.2026–07.06.2029) and Özel Anatolia Hospital Aspendos Hastanesi (Accredited, 30.12.2025–30.12.2028); the list also includes Özel Akdeniz Sağlık Vakfı (ASV) Yaşam Hastanesi (Accredited, 27.08.2026–26.08.2029). The list gives no province column, so confirm current status with the hospital. Source: TÜSKA Accredited Organisations, accessed 08.10.2026
TÜSKA announced that Anatolia Hospital Aspendos received its accreditation certificate at a ceremony held at the hospital on 20 February 2026, following the board decision of 30 December 2025. Source: TÜSKA, accessed 08.10.2026
International accreditation: JCI
Medical Park Antalya Hospital in Fener, Muratpaşa, states on its own website that it is a 228-bed complex with 33 specialties; that it holds Joint Commission International (JCI) and Global Healthcare Accreditation (GHA) accreditation and a health tourism authorisation certificate; that it provides organ transplant, bone marrow transplant and oncology services; and that it has agreements with more than 200 domestic and international insurers. These are the hospital's own statements; JCI's database could not be accessed for this article. Source: Medical Park Antalya Hospital, accessed 08.10.2026
Health tourism authorisation and HealthTürkiye
The Regulation on International Health Tourism and Tourist Health of 26 April 2025 requires health facilities admitting international patients to obtain an authorisation certificate from the Ministry of Health, and intermediary organisations to be authorised by USHAŞ. It makes TÜSKA accreditation a condition for hospitals, medical centres, medical laboratories and dialysis centres, granting existing certificate holders until 31 December 2026 for accreditation and until 31 December 2025 to take out complication insurance for surgical procedures performed in operating theatres. Facilities must also integrate with the HealthTürkiye portal and set up an international patient unit with foreign-language staff. Source: Official Gazette, 26.04.2025, accessed 08.10.2026
HealthTürkiye is the official portal run by USHAŞ, a Ministry of Health company; the site states that its information is verified by the Ministry and gives +90 850 288 38 38 as a 24/7 support line. Antalya entries include Özel OFM Antalya Hastanesi, founded in 2012 with 426 staff, 29 specialties and service in 5 languages, and Özel Akdeniz Hastanesi, founded in 2020 with 500 staff, 25 specialties and service in 7 languages. Thinking about hospitals when choosing a home
Private hospitals cluster in central Muratpaşa, while the city hospital and the university hospital lie towards Kepez and Konyaaltı. Walking or short driving distance to healthcare can be decisive in the housing choice, especially for retirees; see our FAQ for insurance coverage. Institution counts and accreditation status change over time; confirm current details on the hospitals' official websites.
